Part 1: SOS from Mechtropolis
After Mysterious Johnson accidentally opened a mysterious space portal, an SOS signal was received from Planet Zargon. Queenadent Pureheart gives permission for you to investigate.
You land in Mechtropolis and meet Selina, a GEARS graduate with almost-superhuman intelligence. She needs your help because Dr Boltavolt has kidnapped every superhero in Mechtropolis.
Mechtropolis is swarming with Boltavolt's superbots. Selina thinks she can reverse-engineer the superbots, but she needs you to defeat them and collect 20 parts from the wrecks. She quickly creates new weapons for you from the scrap pile and starts work on a Geekatron mecha chassis.
However, Dr Boltavolt ordered some CorDemi Drones from EvilCorp to steal Selina's prototype. Now he is using the Geekatron to cause earthquakes downtown. Defeat 5 drones and then you can repair your mecha before facing the Geekatron. Defeat the Geekatron and Selina will teach you how to equip the chassis with certain weapon combos to trigger special effects.
To get the best out the Geekatron chassis, you need to equip it with weapons created by Selina and then during battle use a weapon combination sequence to trigger a special effect. First use either a arm or shoulder weapon, then the head, and then the body weapon.

Part 2: Rescue the Superheroes
Selina has built a supercomputer called Cerebellum that can detect superpowers. There is a faint signal in Mechtroplis. Defeat 8 CorDemi Drones plus one of Boltavolt's special mecha to rescue the superheroes. Unfortunately, Dr Boltavolt has drained their superpowers and brainwashed them with his hypnobeam, so the superhero must be defeated to reverse the effects. Rescue 10 superheroes, the last of which is Dr Bryce Brenner (note: there is no in-game counter to show how many you have rescued - just keep going until you rescue Brenner).
Quickflash is a bit harder to rescue because he's so fast. Fortunately Selina has built a Largo Laser that will slow him
down. Look for him around town but watch out for the missiles - Boltavolt doesn't want you to catch him! Hit him with
the laser six times and then you can fight him. Turns out Boltavolt hyponotised Quickflash into delivering ammunition
for a secret building project - the Universo. He has enough ammunition for a mecha army, plus 6 billion tons of Crystallised
Dragon's Breath to power them. But no one has found the secret headquarters yet.
Part 3: The Universo Project
After rescuing Dr Bryce Brenner, he tells you that the Universo will be powered by the energy of the Mechtropolis superheroes. The next thing you know, there are stories of mecha-sized spiders coming from underground. You go and investigate - but be warned: the spiders swarm towards you. There's a healing pad to the right of a locked door and two levers that need to be pushed to the left: one in a room at the bottom left, and one in a room at the bottom right. They unlock the door to the boss fight with Arachnid (Hint: make sure you heal before you fight him). Defeat the Arachnid to rescue him from Boltavolt's hypnobeam.
The underground bunker was where Boltavolt was building the core for the Universo - and it's almost finished. You access a file about
the Universo and discover that it is a supermecha as powerful as a whole army. Apparently Zargon was chosen as the development site
because the superheroes' energy can be channeled through the power conduit using a Dark Prism, and is a renewable source of energy because
the superheroes regenerate. Getting Universo launched is the hard part; once it's activated, it won't need any more energy. It has to be
stopped before it can launch!
One of the superheroes, Mecha Bat has been hiding in a cave. If you can find him, he might be able to help you find Boltavolt's secret facility. There's an automap to show you the way, but you're not alone down there - ants, bats and scorpions don't appreciate being disturbed. In the first set of rooms, there is a lever that needs to be pushed to the left in the dead-end path. In the third set of rooms there is another lever that needs to be pushed to the right in a dead end path on the left. Each set of rooms has a healing station - use it! The two levers unlock a door at the end of the fourth set of rooms that take you to the boss fight with Mecha Bat. The Universo is finished and only Thunderhammer knows where.
Find and defeat Thunderhammer, and a flashback occurs, set 3 months ago when Dr Boltavolt was feeling angry because he didn't have a superpower
and wasn't taken seriously. So he plots to show everyone how clever he is. Flashback over and you find Thunderhammer has regenerated stronger
than before. Defeat him again. Another flashback - Billy Boltavolt is trying to steal a Evilcorp Proto Resistor from the Daily Zargon and meets
Selina. She talks about technology to him and he falls head over heels for her. Thunderhammer regenerates stronger again. Defeat him again.
Another flashback - Boltavolt is getting away with his heist and Thunderhammer beats him. The Evilcorp van which is being remote controlled by
Boltavolt loses control and almost kills Selina, but Thunderhammer saves her. While she thanks him, Boltavolt gets the Proto Resistor and escapes.
Thunderhammer regenerates again. Defeat him for the last time and another flashback occurs showing that Boltavolt gets his revenge on Thunderhammer
by using him as the first guinea pig for the hypnobeam.
Part 4: Defeat the Universo
Thunderhammer reveals that Boltavolt has hidden the Universo in the deepest lake on Planet Zargon - Loch Mess. Selina scouts ahead in her
submarine. Unfortunately, the Universo is powering up its weapons and her submarine is the first target! Boltavolt is furious that Selina was
killed and blames YOU for putting her in danger.
The Universo targets you next - but it's so big, you can only fight part of it at a time. Furthermore, Universo has some mean attacks: Caustic Venom (damage-over-time), Vampiric Effect (regeneration), and Gummed up the Works (immobilises weapon).

After defeating the Universo, Boltavolt tells you he is already building an even bigger Universo. The damaged Universo has an energy overload and explodes, with some of the energy hitting Selina's body. The drained supoerpowers Universo was using as a power source transforms her into Starstorm. Now she is the sole superhero defender of Planet Zargon, and a powerful ally.
